Terra Nova - The Gentle Giant

Terra Nova has been for centuries a trusty companion for humans. Used almost exclusively in the past as a utilitarian dog, he is an excellent swimmer and therefore a native lifeguard. This breed is believed to have first appeared in the Canadian region of Newfoundland, where his ancestors had been brought by European fishermen.
Terra Nova are calm and devoted companions. They are not known for excesive barking. This dog breed is considered to be perfect for assuring protection with less aggressive tint. They are known as extremely courageous dogs and their dareness is legendary.
Terra Nova is well behaved in the company of children or of other pets as a result of his intelligence and stable character. Due to his large size this dog needs quite a lot of space, for which reason Terra Nova aren't a qood choice for those who are first timers in canine caring.

Terra nova is also famous among breeders for his excessive slavering and this thing may pose a problem to some owners, but most of them easily overcome it, charmed by this dog's calm and tender personality. Even though this breed is known for changing its hair every season Terra Nova are't recorded for causing allergy to his human companions. On average they suffer lesser illnesses during their lifetime than other dog breeds.
